The war against exorbitant pricing of food in remote communities continues with the latest name and shame post going viral.

The following photo was posted yesterday and is believed to have been taken at a local Thursday Island shop on Christmas Day. The post has since been shared over 1000 times. This kind of response shows just how sick and tired everyone is of seeing people living in remote communities being cheated out of money while shopping for basic necessities.

If you have seen exorbitant prices in remote communities make sure you let us know about it. You can create a similar post like the one above or send us the picture if you would like to remain anonymous. With continued pressure on social media and Independent media, we will bring this issue to national attention.
