A concerned shopper was shocked to discover a body paint brand using Blackface to promote their product.

The image was sent to Blackfulla Revolution, an Indigenous rights Facebook page in Australia. The image was taken inside a Homebase store inside Marketplace Gungahlin in Canberra. The image was posted yesterday with the caption: “Blackface is not ok Homebase store. NO not even for Halloween. When are you people going to get this? WHEN?”

Surprisingly there appears to be many people who still can’t understand why Blackface is offensive. There were many comments that said, black is just one of many colours that can be bought. This argument may seem logical to someone who isn’t aware of the history of Blackface, but thankfully there were many comments that hopefully have gone a long way towards helping people understand why Blackface was, is and always will be offensive.

Anyway if you still don’t get it, here’s a 5 minute educational video on the topic.
