David Gulpilil set for triumphant return to the big screen

2017 is shaping up as a big year for the Iconic Indigenous actor.

Gulpilil has already finished filming his part in the re-make of the film, Storm Boy, which propelled Gulpilil to fame. In full circle fashion, Gulpilil now sees himself playing the father of Fingerbone Bill, which is the role he was in over 40 years ago.

Fingerbone Bill will now be played by another well-known Indigenous actor, Trevor Jamieson.  Alongside these Indigenous stars will be other iconic film legends, Geoffrey Rush & Jai Courtney. For Gulpilil 2017 is shaping up as a big year. Not only is he taking part in Storm Boy, Gulpilil is also starring in a new Australian outback zombie drama which also stars UK actor Martin Freeman.

Gulpilil now calls Murray Bridge in South Australia home after recently moving down from the Northern Territory. The actor is now 64 years old and has been part of Australia’s film scene most of his life. Check out his complete list of films here.
