Two days have passed since the latest Aboriginal death in custody and we remain the only news source to have reported the story.
An alleged bashing, a subsequent death after the alleged bashing and community protests have all taken place in the NSW town of Tamworth this week without a single mainstream media outlet reporting on the issue. There was a 7 news film crew at the protest yesterday but still, there are no reports online about the death or even the protest happening.

At the same time, the nations media went into a frenzy over the death of a crocodile in Central Queensland and the assault on former prime minister Tony Abbott.
We wish we were writing more about positive & uplifting stories, but sadly, it is the devastating news like this that takes priority in these oppressive times that we are in.
There have been inquiries from the ABC and NSW corrective services about our story. The ABC would like to know why the police haven’t officially reported the case to the media. The corrective services believe that our story was inaccurate.
In response to the corrective services message, we would like to remind you that our first story clearly reported on accusations.
In response to the ABC, our guess is that perhaps it is due to the death not occurring inside the prison.
To the family and friends of the young man, we hope his death does not become just another statistic, we hope justice is served and that the fight for justice will become a catalyst for change. We will continue to support that fight as best we can online. The quickest way to contact us is through our Facebook page.
