On point: comedian compares Australia day to the Jewish Holocaust

In case you are still confused about why the Yarra city council decided to move their official Australia day celebrations away from Jan 26th, perhaps Melbourne comedian Aamer Rahman can give you some perspective.

For anyone who supports the Yarra councils decision and is trying hard to explain to others why they should think again about celebrating Australia day, we think you might want to share this video with those who still don’t get it.

In the video Rahman criticises both Australia day and the Australian flag. He makes a point by highlighting how sickening it is to pressure our people into taking part in Australia day celebrations with Aboriginal people who perform token cultural performances such reenactments, dances and welcome to country ceremonies.

We really hope that Rahman’s raw form of humour might go a long way towards helping the non Indigenous population of Australia to understand just how crazy it is for Australia to keep this date as a national celebration while expecting our people to go along with it.
