After back to back Koori Knockout wins in 2015 & 2016, the Redfern All Blacks are out of the 2017 Koori Knockout.

RAB failed to progress beyond Round 2 of the Knockout after narrowly going down to Combine Countries team (who are based in western Sydney).

RAB1 vs CCO: Day 3

A shocking home defeat to Redfern All Blacks RLFC who went down in a nail biter against Combined Countries 4 – 6 | Watch the #KooriKnockouts live on NITV (Ch.34) now and tomorrow from 9am.

Now the question is… Who will be taking the knockout back home to host it in 2018? Obviously Combined Countries deserve to be one of the favourites now after knocking out RAB. Other teams who deserve to be favourites are the Newcastle All Blacks & Cabbage Tree Island.

Or will one of the sentimental favourites come through and win the KO? Some strong teams to look out for are the Bourke Warriors, Walgett Aboriginal Connection, Narwan Eels who are playing this year in honour of Tane Chatfield. Toomelah tigers are also still in the comp together with Nanima who are playing this year with Anthony Mundine.
